Paper Monsters by Crescent Moon Games

(5/5) Paper Monsters for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is the absolute best platforming game for any mobile device. The game has a large amount of gameplay, with 20 levels, each about 10 minutes long (longer if you want to get all of the collectibles), and the developers are already hard at work on new levels. The characters and enemies are all very adorable, and all appear to be made from paper or cardboard (papercraft). The environments and backgrounds are very detailed, with a 2.5-D style. The main character is almost fully customizable, with unlockable hats and bodies. The music is very cheerful, and adds to the already amazing game. Paper Monsters is a must-have for only $0.99 on the App Store. http://itunes.apple.com/app/paper-monsters/id439927846?mt=8

Sploosh by Spooky Moon Studio

(4.8/5) Sploosh for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is an amazing water physics game on the App Store. You control the gravity of the world by tilting the device in any direction. Doing so will make water flow left, right, up, or down. The game has great colorful graphics, and the physics work very well. The music is very cheerful, and makes the game feel happier. The end goal of the game is to water seeds and a withering tree, thus completing the level. Sploosh is, in my opinion, the best water physics game for an Apple device, and is a great deal for only $0.99. http://itunes.apple.com/app/sploosh/id486518261?mt=8

ParkBuddy by Damiaan Twelker

(4.7/5) ParkBuddy for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a useful app with a beautiful UI. The user interface is slick, smooth, and simple. The black, white, and blue color scheme looks amazing on retina-display devices, and is the best part of the app. The main function of the app though is to help you remember where you parked your car or bike. The app tells you your exact location, and you can press the large "PARK" button to record your location. Later, when you are trying to get back to your car or bike, you can look at the location of your vehicle, and get directions to it's location. ParkBuddy is a great looking app, and a useful one too. ParkBuddy is available for $0.99 on the app store. http://itunes.apple.com/app/parkbuddy/id486209691?mt=8

Ash II: Shadows (Gold Edition) by Konami Digital Entertainment

(4.9/5) Ash II: Shadows for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a very nice action RPG. The gold edition comes with all six chapters unlocked, and you don't have to pay extra for them. There is also a silver edition available, in which you receive chapter 2 for free and half off all other chapters. The game is a very nice-looking and action-filled RPG, with an engaging storyline. The game is very similar to games such as The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Warrior, and Final Fantasy. The graphics are smooth, and the controls are very intuitive, as the character is controlled by moving your finger to an area on the screen. There is also a virtual d-pad available for those who don't like the other control options. Occasionally, the game will crash, which is my only complaint. Luckily, the game auto-saves every so often, so usually you will have nothing to worry about. Overall, Ash II: Shadows is one of the best RPGs on Apple devices, and, for the amount of content included, is well worth the $4.99. http://itunes.apple.com/app/ash-ii-shadows-gold-edition/id486422983?mt=8

The Show Must Go On by Hide and Seek Productions Ltd

(4.8/5) The Show Must Go On for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is the official Royal Opera House game. You play as a conductor of 4 different plays, such as Swan Lake. Many bad things are happening, and you must help the crew get everything set up for the play. You can play through many different minigames, some requiring to tilt or tap on your device. With an amazing classical music soundtrack and graphics done by the amazing people over at Big Pixel Studios, this game is just one amazing piece of art. You will definitely want to check out The Show Must Go On for only $1.99, as it is chock full of minigames, cute and funny cutscenes, and amazing graphics and music. A must-have. http://itunes.apple.com/app/the-show-must-go-on/id465068740?mt=8

Stop Those Fish by Eye Interactive Inc.

(4.4/5) Stop Those Fish for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a very fun game involving Bears fighting fish. You must stop an army of fish that are trying to defeat the land mammals. You control 3 separate bears as they launch dynamite at fish by dragging from the boats to where you want the dynamite to explode, in order to stop them from destroying the bears' boats. The boats, weapons, etc. are all upgradeable, using in-game currency. The game music is great to listen to, and the graphics fit the setting of the game. Overall, the game is worth the $1.99 price. Stop Those Fish is definitely a great game you won't want to miss. http://itunes.apple.com/app/stop-those-fish/id479481004?mt=8

Survival Cell by Holderness Media

(3.2/5) Survival Cell for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a mediocre game. The game is pretty much just tapping where to move a cell, which is no more than just a circle. You must make the "cell" attack enemy diseases, while not being attacked by them yourself. The graphics look like they were made in MS Paint, which is definitely not a good thing. The music is a bunch of static-sounding sounds, with string instruments playing in the background. Survival Cell is an okay game for the $0.99, but definitely not the best out there. http://itunes.apple.com/app/survival-cell/id459979400?mt=8

Do Do Egg! By Ponos

(4.1/5) Do Do Egg! for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a puzzle game that some will like, while others won't. The game in a nutshell is just connecting the same kind of eggs, in order to break them. You can connect them even with other eggs in between, and can line them up in different shapes, not just rows or columns. The game has good music, and a cartoony art style with bright colors. The game is fun for a little bit, but becomes a bit repetitive after a while. I would recommend Do Do Egg! to fans of puzzle games who are looking for a new and unique type of game. Do Do Egg! is available on the app store for $0.99. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/do-do-egg!/id454941207?mt=8

Super Crate Box by Vlambeer

(5/5) Super Crate Box for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a port of the popular PC title with the same name. The game has absolutely amazing pixel art and catchy chiptunes. The game puts you in the place of one of many different unlockable characters. You uses on-screen buttons to control movement, jumping, and shooting with multiple awesome weapons. You can switch between weapons by collecting "crates", which also allow you to unlock new levels, game modes, characters, and weapons. Overall, Super Crate Box is one amazing game that you won't want to miss. Get it while it's hot for only $0.99. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/super-crate-box/id483025428?mt=8

The UI is simple and nice, with a color scheme of green and white. Overall, dA Messages is a handy app if you use DeviantArt to communicate with fans of your art, or if you just want to comment on art you love. dA Messages is available on the app store now for the somewhat steep price of $2.99. http://itunes.apple.com/app/da-messages/id493840849?mt=8

Ninja Ponk by Alien Worm Games

(4.2/5) Ninja Ponk for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a very enjoyable endless game. The entire game is simply moving a board to save jumping ninjas from falling. This may sound easy, but gets difficult as you progress. There are many purchasable upgrades, both with in-game currency and in the form of in-app purchases, but neither are required to fully enjoy the game. The music is very nice, and sounds like authentic japanese music. The graphics and menus are very detailed and look very nice, even on non-retina display devices. For $0.99, I would recommend you go download Ninja Ponk now. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ninja-ponk/id454962538?mt=8

Kunundrum by Hope This Works Games Inc.

(3.9/5) Kunundrum for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a puzzle game. The graphics have a neon style (as seen above) which looks very nice on the retina display. The main goal of the game is to swipe to make different colored orbs move to the goal with the same color, all in as little moves as possible. The game is not an original idea, but it is a great game all the same. The game does charge extra for the second level pack, which is the one major downside, since the game already costs money. However, if you like these kind of games and are looking for a new addition to your collection, I would give Kunundrum a try. http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/kunundrum/id464105076?mt=8

Muzik by Ben Deckys

(4.5/5) Muzik for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is an amazing Windows Phone 7-themed app. Muzik makes it easy to listen to your music library, with a great minimalistic theme. The app allows you to listen to music, podcasts, and watch videos with a WP7 themed experience. This is a great app for people who love to listen to music and love the Windows Phone 7's layout. For $0.99, Muzik is one of the best music app replacements out there. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/muzik-for-iphone/id447993609?mt=8

Mad Rush by Krivorukoff LLP

(4.6/5) Mad Rush for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a very fun game similar to titles such as Mega Jump. You control a small rabbit with a helmet as he must fly through the air and eat bugs to keep going. He is pitted against many silly opponents, and must beat them in different challenges. The music and graphics are both equally amazing, with a lot of detail. The game will keep you occupied with upgradeable power-ups and helmets, but only for so long, as there are only ten levels. For $0.99, you can purchase Mad Rush from the app store. http://itunes.apple.com/app/mad-rush/id467931443

Oh! Edo Towns by Kairosoft

(5/5) Oh! Edo Towns for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is yet another amazing simulation game from Kairosoft. You are an invisible mayor of a medieval Japanese town, and you must build it up to a huge, bustling, city. The graphics and music are both very retro, but also very fitting to the game. All of Kairosoft's games are EXTREMELY addicting, and this gem is no different. You are forced to deal with building, expanding, choosing jobs, getting new residents, etc. The game is well worth the $3.99 asking price, and then some. Great for fans of sim games, and just people with money to spend, Oh! Edo Towns is great for everybody. http://itunes.apple.com/app/id474177077

Magnetz by MutinySoft LLC

(3.8/5) Magnetz for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is an innovative physics game. You pretty much just control whether a magnet repels or attracts a small metal ball. Your final goal is to get the ball to a goal by tapping to attract it to a magnet, and tapping again to repel it. The graphics are okay, but not stellar. The game is overall a fun and calming game, but not one that I would get extremely addicted to. Magnetz is available now on the app store for $0.99. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/magnetz/id475139854?mt=8

Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion by Witching Hour Studios

(4.5/5) Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a strategy game set in medieval times. You are a invisible entity that can control many different units in battle. The controls are well explained during the tutorial, and are dealt with by tapping through various menus. The graphics are good, with an "Advance Wars" (Look it up.) theme. The storyline is good, and is an interesting one. The game is quite long, and is great for fans of strategy games. Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion is available on the app store for $4.99. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ravenmark-scourge-estellion/id478016806?mt=8

Surge by Tom Ward

(3.7/5) Surge for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a high-speed tapping game. You must tap cubes as fast as you can, before they disappear. The graphics are okay, but they could definitely improve a little. The overall gameplay is not a very good concept. Tapping the screen very fast gets tiring for your fingers, and gets old fast. The upside to all of this is the great music. Overall, Surge is fun for a few minutes, but not any longer. Surge is available for $0.99 on the app store http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/surge/id438024985?mt=8

NFL Flick Quarterback by Full Fat Games

(4.9/5) NFL Flick Quarterback for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is one of the most amazing football (rugby) games on the app store.  The graphics are absolutely stunning. From the sun shining off of the players' helmets, to the grass on the field, everything has an amazing amount of detail. The music on the menus is cool, but the music in-game is non-existent except for the crowd cheering. The multiple game modes are great, and they all involve clicking to a certain spot. One complaint is that occasionally the other player on your team won't chase after the ball, even when the ball is right next to him. Other than that small flaw, NFL Flick Quarterback is a great game for football fans and just fans of sports games. For only $0.99, this amazing flick sports game can be yours. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/nfl-flick-quarterback/id417255051?mt=8

Chunks by Shaun Inman

(5/5) Chunks for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a game that enlarges Shaun Inman's collection of great apps. The game's awesome 8-bit sprites, coupled with catchy upbeat chiptunes and entertaining gameplay, makes one amazing game. You must tap different "chunks" before they reach the end of the conveyor belt they are on, or else they will fill up and overflow from the bottom of the screen. To prevent this, you can press a button that has the word "OVERFLOW" on it, which removes half of the chunks on the bottom half of the screen. I would reccomend any of Shaun Inman's apps, including Chunks, which you can try for only $0.99. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/chunks/id461400602?ls=1&mt=8

Catculator by FPO Projects Inc.

(3.8/5) Catculator for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a very cute calculator. The calculator "buttons" are placed on the body of a cat hanging from a tree branch, hence the name "Catculator." The calculator is a basic calculator, with none of the more advanced buttons that scientific calculators have. However, you can still do basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The background changes in real-time between day and night, based on your time zone. If you rub the catculator's face with your finger, it will purr. Also, if your device is shaken, the catculator's eyes will open wide and it will make a loud, distressed-sounding meow. The app is quite gimmicky, but it's fun to show your friends. Catculator is currently available for $0.99 on the app store. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/catculator/id461177840?mt=8

Forever Drive by Supermono Studios

(4.3/5) Forever Drive for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a 3rd-person racing game. The graphics in Forever Drive really stand out from the crowd, with amazing neon-themed cars, buildings, and roads. Along with the astounding graphics, the gameplay is enjoyable too. Your car is controlled with two buttons, one for forward and one for reverse. Your car is very customizable, with multiple license plates to choose from, multiple cars, and many different colors for your car. The music is subtle, but it is nice to listen to while cruising down either pre-made levels, your own levels made with the level editor, or other players' levels. Best of all, Forever Drive is forever free! Go ahead and try it out, you have nothing to lose! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/forever-drive/id442923846?mt=8

Idyllic! by FatCow Games

(3.9/5) Idyllic for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a quite fun endless game. You control the nameless protagonist by tilting your device from side to side to bounce from island to island. There are occasional bosses for you to fight with powers purchased (with in-game money) from the shop. The graphics aren't the best 2D graphics I've seen, but that's my opinion. The music complements the overall mood of the game, and really adds to the experience. The game is full of skulls and foggy backgrounds, causing a "gloomy" mood. I would definitely recommend Idyllic to fans of endless games. Idyllic is available on the app store for just $0.99 for your enjoyment. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/idyllic!/id445869482?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Shake Spears! by Alawar Entertainment

(4.2/5) Shake Spears! for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is a game set in medieval times. You control a horse-riding knight in a duel against another knight. The knight's lance is controlled by moving your finger up and down on the right side of the screen. The graphics are in 2D, with full retina display support. The music during the battles is not the loudest, but it makes the battles all the more exciting. Overall, Shake Spears! is a great game for quickly playing a level or two, and for only $1.99, I would give it a shot. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/shake-spears!/id438648717?mt=8
